Jan 21, 2012 - 2012 Crystal Ball - May the Force Be With Us!

The 12th Annual Crystal Ball Gala was held on January 21, 2012 and the theme was "May the Force Be With Us" so everything centered around Star Wars. The Southaven Arena was decorated like spaceships and a galaxy far, far away plus over 40 of the members of the 501st Legion and Rebel Legion were in attendance to make it a really special event!
There was also a portion of the live program where the costumed characters got to do a march through the arena to show off our costumes and it was an awesome spectacle! Visit my YouTube page to see the video: (link to be added soon)
It was a super cool event and won't be forgotten any time soon!

Nov 11, 2011 - 11.11.11 National Metal Day...and MY birthday !!!

Yep, it is...National Metal Day AND my birthday! What an honor to have metal-heads all over the globe celebrating metal on my birthday!
It was kinda cool and won't happen again in my lifetime but at 11 seconds past 11:11am on 11-11-11....and again at 11 seconds past 11:11pm on 11-11-11.

Sept 21, 2011 - Just like NEW...
|
I've been playing guitar this week learning some songs to prepare for an upcoming band rehersal. Since the last band I played in was way back
in the 80s, all of my electronics in my rig are over 30 years old now!. Needless to say, the potentiometers (volume knobs, etc.) were all
scratchy and noisy. I did a little research and found a lot of good reviews on a product called DeoxIT so I picked up a can of the FaderLube and gave it a try.
This stuff is AWESOME! I opened up the chassis on all my gear (amps, rack mounted DSP, overdrive, etc.) and followed the instructions. The
only thing I added was using my air compressor to blow off all the left over spray (too impatient to let it air dry). By the time I got the amp
back together, I figured it would have dried so I plugged it in, fired it up and voila! The volume, tone and all the other controls on the amp
all worked like NEW! The amp sounded great and I had no crackle or scratchy noises when adjusting the controls.
I'm a believer and will not hesitate to use this product on anything I own with an old scratchy or noisy potentiometer. My guitars are next...they aren't
scratchy yet, but this stuff will certainly keep them lubricated and in good working shape.

Finished my Darth Vader costume and wore it to the July 4th Celebration in Olive Branch. It was a big hit with the fans.

Went to the Bon Jovi concert last night at the FedEx Forum. Ritchie Sambora wasn't in the line up due to being in
rehab but they rocked out just the same.
I'll post some photos to my gallery once I've had time to prep them for the web.

Attended the 29th annual Mid South Con on March 25th and 26th. Had a blast and met some new 501st Legion friends.

I trooped solo at the first ever Memphis Comic & Fantasy Con at the Memphis Cook Convention Center. It was a fun event, lots of photos taken with the con-goers.

October 17, 2010 - Walk for Diabetes
|
I trooped at the Columbus, MS Walk for Diabetes to support the Mississippi Diabetes Foundation. It was a fun day and I even got a fast 2-second spot on the Columbus 10 o'clock news...
(you have to wait through the ad then the spot about the Diabetes Walk starts around the 50 second mark.)
